Elba Island can be reached by ferry from Piombino (LI).
In about an hour you reach Portoferraio, the capital of the island, from where you can also take a bus or taxi to the different places of Elba.
The following ferry companies offer a crossing from Piombino to Elba: Moby & Toremar, Elba Ferries and BluNavy.
 
In the high season, a ferry departs every half hour. We recommend, especially the weekend, to book the ferry online. On request, the Hotel Acquarius will be pleased to book your ferry for you without any extra charge.

The ferry company Toremar also operates the port of Rio Marina in about 45 minutes. For passengers without a car, Toremar also offers a fast hydrofoil, which takes only 40 minutes from Piombino to Portoferraio.

• From the north: From Milan (A1) take the A15 direction Parma Ovest, then the A12 Genova-Livorno exit Rosignano.
  Further on the S.S. Aurelia to Venturina-Elba and then to Piombino Marittima.
• From the north-east: Motorway A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno: exit Rosignano, continue on S.S. Aurelia to Venturina-Elba and then to Piombino Marittima.
  Alternatively, S.G.C. FI-PI-LI (Florence-Pisa-Livorno): Exit Florence (Firenze Signa) and follow the S.S. to Collesalvetti, take the motorway to Rosignano Marittima, then Venturina-Isola d'Elba and from there continue to Piombino Marittima.
• From the South: Motorway A12 Roma-Grosseto: S.S. Aurelia exit Venturina-Elba, continue to Piombino Marittima.

The island of Elba is connected all year with the airports of Pisa, Florence and Milan, and in the summer months with numerous European cities.
In order to experience flight times, we recommend you to visit Silver Air and Elba Airport.

The arrival station is Piombino Marittima, where the port is located and about 100 m from the ticket station. The timetables can be found online, where you can also book on Trenitalia.
